Cadillac XTS Brings its Best to Livery Industry
![2013_cadillac_xts](http://getfile3.posterous.com/getfile/files.posterous.com/temp-2013-02-26/warDhzpJGBCnAHtkopqwoIjlCszuialCuIFsavJqdyIhmudmJwbqwoubHCru/2013_cadillac_xts.jpg.scaled500.jpg)
Cadillac is now selling more than nine of 10 all-new XTS models to individual luxury buyers, but the new luxury sedan is also outfitted with a special package that redefines how fleet and car service operators transport their more than 400 million customers.
With the new W20 Livery Package, Cadillac XTS-based limousines no longer take a back seat to showroom models. The package, which includes elements of the XTS Platinum Edition, is exclusively offered to livery companies through Cadillac’s Professional Vehicles program.
“XTS represents a new approach to luxury, centered on advanced technology and design,” said Don Butler, vice president of Cadillac marketing. “This same approach extends to Professional Vehicles, where we are bringing a new formula to the livery customer. Every experience in a Cadillac, front seat or rear seat, meets a higher standard for luxury, performance and technology.”
Unlike many of the cars built for the livery and fleet industries in the past, the special XTS model is at the higher-end of the product range, including 19-inch wheels, exterior door handles with LED illumination, safety technology such as a rear vision camera, and a micro-fiber suede headliner included in the XTS Platinum Edition.
An available rear seat comfort package includes heated seats, window sun shades and a power inverter to charge mobile devices. Navigation, offered through Cadillac’s CUE system for connectivity and control, is also available in the W20 Livery Package.
Carey International, the world’s largest livery company, was one of the first companies to sign on, purchasing 150 new Cadillac XTS W20 Professional Services Sedans.
“Our customers wanted approachable luxury and enabling technology,” said Gary Kessler, president and CEO of Carey International. “We chose the XTS as the cornerstone of the Carey brand because it represented the perfect combination of power, luxury, technology and sophistication that our customers desire and demand today.”
Carey conducted extensive research into 24 vehicles before choosing the XTS W20. “In the end, the decision to go with the XTS was a no brainer,” Kessler said.

Here’s your Monday Maintenance tip!
Here’s your Monday Maintenance tip: Run your AC during the winter! To keep your car’s air-conditioning system fit for the next warm season, run it a few times throughout the winter. This will prevent moving parts in the compressor from seizing. Also, circulating the refrigerant will help keep the seals soft and pliant.

Cadillac ELR meets snow and ice in northern Michigan winter testing
Right after being displayed and winning an award at the cozy confines of the Detroit Auto Show, the Cadillac ELR plug-in hybrid went into the snow for some real-world extreme driving conditions. Cadillac engineers recently completed chassis testing on pre-production ELR models, evaluating the car's handling in winter weather conditions.
Despite the snow and ice, tire performance, stopping distance and brake performance are excellent, said Joshua Auden, Cadillac ELR vehicle performance engineer. The goal has been to balance making a car that's both safe and stable for the customer and fun to drive in all situations, he said.

Cadillac CTS Adds Colorful Limited Edition Models
The Silver Frost Edition will be a special run of 100 CTS-V Coupes featuring a special low-gloss matte paint finish.
The Stealth Blue Edition is a vibrant new color in a more traditional metallic finish and will appear on the CTS Coupe and the high-performance CTS-V in Coupe, Sedan and Wagon body styles.
“Some color hues, such as blues, greys and reds easily identify with performance and velocity,” said Michelle Killen, lead creative designer for exterior paints. “Both Stealth Blue and Silver Frost are very expressive but still true to the luxury and exclusivity that a Cadillac represents, which were driving factors in the creation of the color.”
Silver Frost
The Silver Frost matte paint will be on collector-edition vehicles available through select Cadillac dealers across the country beginning in March.
In addition to the 6.2L supercharged V-8 engine del
ivering 556 horsepower and 551 lb-ft of torque, the Silver Frost CTS-V will offer optional features such as:
- Yellow or red Brembo brake calipers
- High polished or satin graphite wheels
- Suede-covered steering wheel and shift knob
The paint texture will also be noticeably different to the touch as the finish will be slightly less smooth. This is a desirable trait for fans of matte paint finishes. The paint is engineered to be as durable as normal paint but requires special attention for cleaning. The vehicle should be hand washed only.
“We’ve spent a significant amount of time developing these colors so that owners don’t have to deviate too much from their normal maintenance routines yet still have a distinct and dramatic finish to their performance vehicle,” Killen said.
Stealth Blue
The Stealth Blue will have a limited production run starting in March and will be available on the CTS coupe and all CTS-V models. CTS coupe, V coupe and sedan models will also offer an optional “Twilight Blue” leather interior package to go with the blue-grey exterior paint finish.
Stealth Blue CTS models can also be equipped with multiple performance-inspired details such as:
- Satin graphite wheels with silver calipers
- Dark finish grille
- Recaro performance seats

Fresh from being crowned North American Car of the Year, the Cadillac ATS luxury sport sedan today received the 2013 “Best of the Year” Drivers’ Choice award by PBS’ MotorWeek, the longest-running automotive program on television. The award was announced and presented at the Chicago Auto Show.
“The Cadillac ATS is simply the most impressive luxury sport sedan ever to wear an American brand name,” said MotorWeek host John Davis.
A group of 15 judges from MotorWeek’s editorial staff chose the ATS from more than 150 cars, trucks, and utilities. The vehicles were judged on performance, technology, practicality, fuel efficiency and dollar value. Out of 13 lifestyle categories, ATS was also picked “Best Sport Sedan.”
"The objective of ATS was to challenge the world’s best sport sedans head-to-head, developing a true driver’s car that was nimble, quick and fun,” said Jim Vurpillat, director of marketing, global Cadillac. “That makes this recognition from the experts at Motorweek especially meaningful.”
The list of accolades is growing for the ATS, which was named Car of the Year by Esquire, Autobytel Luxury Car of the Year and Motor Press Guild Vehicle of the Year, among others.
A compact sport sedan, the ATS is offered in rear- and all-wheel drive versions, with a choice of powerful and efficient four- and six-cylinder engines. It recently received a 5-Star overall crash test rating and received five stars in every category in the New Car Assessment Program run by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

What a great review of our dealership from a customer that traveled 500 miles to see us!
"My car buying experience from a dealer, 500 miles out of town, was excellent and well worth the trip. I have recommended Capital Cadillac to few other people, hope they have bought, or will buy their car from them. I have purchased 17/18 cars in my lifetime, I think the experience of dealing with Capital Cadillac was the best." -Moinkhan

Monday Maintenance Tip: Clean your car in Winter, too
If you rarely wash your car during messy winter weather, you are not alone. The cars you see on the road make it obvious that lots of folks figure,”Why bother? The car is going to look awful the next time I drive it.” The problem with this thinking is that washing is more important in the winter than other times of the year. All that sand, slush, and ice mixed with road salt is exactly what makes your car rust. The fastest corrosion occurs when the temperature repeatedly rises above and then falls below freezing. Especially during the messy months, be sure to rinse the undercarriage and hard-to-reach areas that are susceptible to rust, such as the bumpers and inside the wheel wells. If the temperature outside is going to stay above freezing long enough for your car and driveway to dry, fill a bucket with warm water and tackle the job at home. If not, pay a visit to your local car wash and be sure they dry the car thoroughly.
